The thing with Halloween decor is that it can go from chic to cheesy real quick so I typically avoid anything orange, purple or green. (I don’t have children so this is not difficult for me.) I like to think more along the lines of moody candles, lots of blacks, neutrals and skulls of all kinds. Part of the fun for me is scouring my house for trinkets and treasures I can mix and match with my Hallo’ props. I find that doing this strikes a good balance between the ‘decorations’ and my decor and keeps it from getting too campy. If you’re wondering why I’m posting a Halloween Decor Guide in August, it’s because this pandemic has seriously impacted shipping times and how quickly items ordered online are processed.
My advice is to shop now!

ONE
3D Bat Decoration Stickers, Set of 120 Pieces
I love these bats, they were so fun to put up! I had tons left over to use elsewhere around my house and on my front porch too. (They’re waterproof!) They add so much dimension to my Halloween scene. Turn on some tunes, pour a glass of wine and get creative!

TWO
Freakishly Realistic Spider and Web Set
These are super creepy! The set comes with 175 spiders in three different sizes with 800 square feet of web. I just kept thinking about the scene in Harry Potter where he and Ron voluntarily walk into a spidery dungeon nest. Eek!
THREE
2-Pack of Handmade, Feathered Crows
Where these menacing birds go, trouble is sure to follow! This pair of large, black crows is perfect for adding height and depth to your decor.

FOUR
Skull On Canvas with Floating Frame
My obsession with skulls truly knows no bounds BUT lots of them don’t ‘live up’ to my shapely standards. This one, however, is as perfect as they come. Shop it directly from my website at ShopLindseyFoard.com.
FIVE
Black Goose Feathers
The devil is in the details and these black feathers made all the difference to my spray painted tree branch. They completed my scene perfectly and I had tons leftover to put in a little jar and to sprinkle elsewhere around my house.

SIX
Gold Candle Holders, Set of 3
These sleek, gold taper candle holders add just right amount of glam to my scary scene without being gaudy and chunky which means I can use them for lots of occasions instead of just Halloween. The varied heights draw my eye through the frame and the shiny gold reflects the candlelight beautifully.
SEVEN
Black Candles, Set of 12
These black, taper candles are hand-dipped, dripless, smokeless and fit most 3/4″ candle holders. Hot tip: If they are too small for yours, just wrap the bottom in tinfoil. If they’re too big, grab your vegetable peeler from the kitchen and shave a bit off.

EIGHT
Witchcraft: A Handbook of Magic Spells and Potions
You can’t have a Halloween ‘shelfie’ without a book on witchcraft! Tap into the magic all around you with this illustrated guide to ancient potions, spells, chants, rituals, and incantations from around the world. The gold foil cover dancing in the candlelight sets the mood juuust right.
NINE
Human Skull Replica
Nothing sets that macabre-Halloween-vibe quite like a hyper-realistic human skull. This grim version captures exact anatomic detail. More is more, you can never have too many skulls in your Halloween decor.

TEN
Severed Skeleton Hands
These skeleton hands are fun to hide in places that will freak people out. I severed a finger whilst learning they don’t bend at the knuckles…oops.
ELEVEN
Black Gauze Cloths, Set of 2
You can style these tattered gauze cloths in so many different ways; on the wall, in a doorway, as a backdrop, draped over windows, mantles or on top of a dresser like I did. The possibilities really are endless!

TWELVE
30" Circular Gold Wall Mirror
I use this mirror all year in different places around my house. It’s beautiful on it’s own and super festive when it’s covered in Halloween spiderwebs or Christmas greenery.
THIRTEEN
Faux Skull with Antlers
The deer skull in my image is indeed the real-deal but since not everyone has a hunter cousin from Montana I figured you could cheat the look very easily with this resin cast model.
